Hope to see you Wed. Oct. 23rd. The focus of the parent meeting is finding balance in our lives specifically in terms of screen time.
We finished testing the Lamoille River water. Please ask your student what the results were of the test that he/she performed. Next we will analyze the data from the whole 7th grade and report out our results.
After NECAP testing we tested tap water for dissolved oxygen. The test has many steps and needs to be done carefully. Students did a very good job following the step-by-step directions. Remind your student that colder water can hold more dissolved oxygen and therefore colder water is better for all living organisms. Next week we will test Lamoille River water.
We are in the third day of NECAP testing, today is the last reading test. Tomorrow is the first math test.
Although we have been doing NECAP testing we have not neglected science. All students have practiced pH testing and temperature testing of water to find the Q-value. Please ask your student about the tests and how to do them. Welcome to the start of the 2013-2014 school year. We start off with a very exciting unit on water quality. A highlight of this unit is a visit to the Lamoille River and test the quality of the water. I am looking forward to working with your student and having productive year. |
