7th Grade Grading AgreementHomework: 15%Classwork/Quizzes: 25% Tests/Projects: 35% Math Review Quizzes: 25% Homework: Homework will be assigned Monday-Thursday. Electronic & paper copies of homework will be available everyday. KhanAcademy.org will also be assigned as homework to practice exercises and skills taught in class. Homework will be checked for completion and effort at the start of each class. A weekly homework grade is given at the end of each week. If all homework assignments are turned in on time for the week, a student will receive a score of 100. If one assignment is missed, a student will earn a score of 75. If two assignments are missed a score of 50 will be given. If three assignments are missed within the week a score of 25 will be given, and if all 4 assignments for the week are missed a score of 0 will be given. A student will have to complete make up assignments to gain homework completion points. Class Work: Each week students receive 100 points for classwork. These points can only be lost each day if you do not meet classwork expectations. Classwork expectations are to complete work assigned and to participate in all areas of class including group work, independent work & sharing aloud. Quizzes: Students will be given a quiz approximately every 2 weeks. Once the quizzes have been graded, students will have the opportunity to make corrections on their quizzes and resubmit their quiz for a higher grade (2 re-submissions maximum). Tests: Tests will be given in the middle and end of each unit. Like quizzes, students will have the opportunity to make corrections on the problems that did not receive full-credit. Once corrections are made, students may resubmit their test for a higher grade (2 re-submissions maximum). Projects: Periodically projects will be assigned to assess learning. Projects will be graded using a rubric that will be distributed when the project is assigned. Math Review Quizzes: At the start of every math class, students will work on a math review. The same problem types will be used for nine consecutive days. On the tenth day a quiz will be given. |
